During the war, Severus Snape is bitten by Nagini. He knows he is going to die. He had accepted the idea, having never allowed himself to imagine a future for himself. Yet the white walls surrounding him don’t resemble the tunnel of death, and for some reason, no one seems to notice he has awakened—except Harry, who refuses to leave his side.

Harry hadn’t even realised that he had spoken out loud until Snape responded.
“It varies, depending on your tastes.”
Harry blinked at the man in confusion. “You’ve tried monster before?”
“Of course,” Snape scoffed. “Almost all Hogwarts students have at some stage, it’s why it had to be added to the sex education talk.”
