"And now here they were. One afternoon after a hunting trip. “My beloved, I’m home!” he called out, moving to sit his hunting rifle near the front door. Each word caught on the edge of his throat, perhaps somewhat hoarse from disuse, but he still managed to spit them out. The dusty floorboards creaked beneath his boots as he slowly turned a corner and walked down a hallway. He could hear his beloved already. She sounded… excited. For the first time in days. Eager. She was buzzing.
Oh, finally—oh, had she finally forgiven him? Was she feeling better? “My love, how are you?” The hunter said, low and soft, as he rounded the corner into the bedroom and looked at her form on the floor, back against the wall. She was still wearing her gorgeous white cardigan, although by now, it had grown admittedly dirty and unclean. But he was not one to push her boundaries; if she wanted to wear something comfortable, then he wouldn’t stop her. He smiled endearingly at her subtle squirming, which was the most movement he’d seen in a while. “Oh, my love, my beloved, you are beautiful…""
