"Ho, Paulie, does your bird even notice when you put that in?" Pete crowed suddenly. John's eyes flew open.
There was an unspoken rule that they didn't look, when they did this. You closed your eyes and thought of Grace Kelly and if you happened to notice the sounds anyone else made you dutifully ignored them. If you happened to glance at anyone else, you looked away as quickly as you could.
Paul was still leaning against John's door, his trousers undone, and as John's gaze helplessly slid to his lap, he gave himself a slow, deliberate stroke.
"Never had any complaints," he said easily, a filthy grin spreading on his round face.
"Aye, 'cause they couldn't feel a thing," said Pete.
