Summary
They talked for hours. About their lives, about their families, about their studies, about nearly everything they could talk about. Time felt like a construct under each other’s companion, passing by quicker than any of them could grasp — so they didn’t try, they just let it pass by.
They barely knew each other, but that made for excellent discussions.
Around the beautiful city of Oxford they walked, under the street lamps older than themselves. And they talked until it was time to part.

Summary
Enola does not let herself think about the boy at the library until she is far enough from the library’s proximity. Only then, does she allow herself to replay the events, and deny that he probably has the prettiest smile she’s ever seen.
Gods, she needs to stay away from him. She has a very busy four years of university ahead of her, and she will not let a really beautiful boy get in her way of getting a degree.

Summary
As Fontaine recovers from the recent flood, Furina finds herself chained to another charade again.
A second flood is arriving to the nation she so cherishes, but unlike last time, it is her who must find a solution — all while pretending, once again, to have everything under control.
At least, this time, she isn’t alone. Neuvillette would be her shadow, her accomplice in a game of divinity. A game that were she to lose, would mean the destruction of an entire nation.
The cost of saving a nation, however, would cost more than just her power. But Furina would carry that secret to her demise.
OR : Furina has save a nation again, with Neuvillette’s help this time. Except what he doesn’t know is that she’ll probably die saving Fontaine.

Excerpt:
A faint brush against my palm. The gentleness of that touch frightens me, and I dare to break eye contact, glancing briefly at our joined hands. He’s drawing a very soft circle on my palm. The edges of the coin, he’s tracing them.
Terror sings up my spine. Cardan was looking for a weakness, and he just found it. My mutilated hand is viciously painful, more than I can bear, and he’s going to know. He’ll use it against me.
I lock eyes with him again. Wickedness is written into every line of his face.

“I hope you remember that I am Fontaine’s Iudex, not your personal attendant,” Neuvillette muttered.
“And is that not the same thing? Justice’s servant is, naturally, the God of Justice’s servant.”
(Playing the piano, Neuvillette finds, is not the easiest endeavor to pursue.)

Summary
The invitation he sent out last was largely a matter of formality, on Neuvillette’s part. It wouldn’t be reasonable to exclude her from a gathering of close acquaintances, not when they’ve known each other for the longest time; even less so when one considers the matter of his calling, the birth of his existence’s purpose. No matter how things stand between them at present or how she would’ve felt about coming to such an intimate gathering, extending that hand was the bare minimum, a show of rightful respect.
When Furina shows up to the gathering, bottled spring water from the far north in tow, Neuvillette assumes this, too, must be a reciprocation of that respect. “Thank you for inviting me,” is the first thing she says, fashionably late to the function. Handing him her gift, Furina echoes: “A happiest birthday to you, Neuvillette.”
(They dance on the surface with formality and propriety as reasons, burying deep all that is ancient, all that is raw and ugly.)

Her hand goes to the side of her hip, whereupon rests her vision. She does not dare think too much about what it means for her to own it, nor has she yet dared to speak to anyone about it, let alone Neuvillette.
Not that she has yet dared to speak to him about anything important at all.
But oh, she could not deny the ache that their distance left her with. How delirious it made her to think of him day and night, to end up outside in a violent storm just so that she could feel some level of proximity.
