Summary
In his youth, Salazar Slytherin experimented with Human Transfiguration, wanting to appear more menacing in a half-snake body, an ability also inherited by his descendants. Later, it is sometimes used by the Gaunt family to punish their disobedient members with locking them into a body that makes them have no choice but to hide from the world that would only fear them now.
Sebastian, not afraid at all, is there for Ominis even after his change, helping him through both a winter that makes Ominis as weak and tired as a brumating snake, and, when spring comes, through the mating season.
