Summary
Eddie stared out at the audience. For a second he regretted everything. $2,500 Maddie? Seriously? For charity, he had to remind himself.
Twenty-five hundred dollars.
“Who else is gonna bid higher than that?” the auctioneer asked. “Twenty-five hundred, going once…”
Backstage, Buck’s head lifted. Confusion. Who the hell is the mystery bidder? Eddie’s been weird all day, surely he doesn’t want to go on some blind date. Buck had to do something.
Before Buck could finish that thought, he felt himself stepping forward.
Buck was supposed to wait. Buck was supposed to go next. Buck was supposed to stand there and make fun of him later, not do whatever he was about to do.
“Twenty-six hundred,” Buck called.
--
Or,
Buck spends $2,600 to save Eddie from a date with a stranger, then insists on taking him on a proper one himself.
As a friend, of course. Right?

Summary
“So,” Eddie said.
Buck glanced over. “So.”
“Beck asked me out.”
The world narrowed.
Buck’s hand froze on the truck. “What?”
--
Or, Beckett Walsh, a firefighter from the London Fire Brigade, joins the 118 for a three-week exchange program and looks exactly like Buck.
Everyone sees it.
Everyone except Eddie.
So when Beck asks Eddie out, Eddie says yes, hoping one date might help him understand why every relationship before this has felt almost right.
Unfortunately for Buck, “almost right” looks a lot like him.

Summary
Buck hadn’t meant for it to become an addiction. He didn’t mean for it to get this bad. But once he started, he couldn’t stop. It had started innocently. He didn’t want people to worry about him after the kidnapping so he shrugged it off. Tried to deal with it on his own. He told everyone, including Eddie, that he was okay. That he was moving on. He acted normal. Showed up to his shifts on time like always, bantered and joked with everyone at work, the usual. The pills hadn’t been planned. He hadn’t planned to get addicted to them. But the pills quieted the noise inside his head. Eventually, he began to chase that feeling. The feeling of not having the chaos in his head. Of not having to feel. It was nice to not have to deal with the anxiety, and the fear, and the weight of his trauma while still putting on a brave face for everyone else. Eventually that feeling was a feeling he couldn’t live without. So he turned to the comfort of the pills whenever the noise became too much. Unfortunately, that was a lot lately.
OR
In the aftermath of his kidnapping, Buck struggles with addiction to pills and accidentally overdoses. Luckily Eddie is there to pull him out of the darkness.

Summary
“C'mere," Buck says, sitting up to scoot closer to Eddie.
"What are you doing?” Eddie asks, and Buck sighs.
"You can just kiss me, get a taste of the lip balm, and tell me what flavour you think it is.”
Eddie can’t believe his ears.
"That is such a stupid way to win a bet, Buck."
“Oh so you concede?"
Eddie rolls his eyes, shaking his head before planting both hands on the sides of Buck's face and hauling him in to press their lips together.
OR
Buck and Eddie make a bet on whether or not Eddie can guess all of Buck's lip balm flavours, and in order for Eddie to get a taste, they have to kiss.
