Summary
He realised he hadn’t quite looked at Pantalone’s eyes before. There was a kind of softness hidden behind them, masked with an arrogance and rigidity Zandik was quite familiar with. He suddenly recalled spring in Sumeru during his brief time in the Akademiya when life was accompanied only by laughter and shared meals during casual picnics under the soft March sunlight.
Or, fragments of Dottore and Pantalone’s past intertwined with the present in which Dottore has ‘died’ in Nod Krai but Pantalone refuses acceptance.
