    “Professor Talis? Are you still with us?” One hand remains on Jayce’s wrist, and he brings the other to his cheek, patting it gently. “Make a noise if you can hear me.”

    Nothing.

    He taps a little harder. “Professor?”

    Jayce stirs but not a sound leaves him.

    He sucks in a sharp breath. “Jayce.” It takes everything in him to not outright slap the man.

    Luckily, he doesn’t need to. Jayce rouses from his stupor, eyes still closed but more relaxed than before. He nuzzles into the palm that’s still on his face, and Viktor brushes it off as the actions of a disoriented man. It wasn’t the potion. It couldn’t be.

    A small mishap happens in the middle of one of Viktor's classes. Jayce is there to help clean it up.
