Summary
It’s easy to lose yourself when you think everybody has healed and left you behind with your problems — those very same problems they’ve caused but don’t care enough to fix.
Optimus finds it impossible to rework this mindset. In the end, all it takes is a rowdy crew with an impossible goal, a months-long bender with his amica’s conjunx, and a trip to an alternate reality to convince him that nobody really moves on from their tragedies. They simply make do with strong distractions.
Fortunately for Optimus, the unhinged shenanigans of the Lost Light and their ex-warlord co-captain can sum up to a hell of a distraction.
