Summary
“Don’t touch me.” Lu Guang snapped, swatting his hand away.
Vein clicked his tongue, “So rude, even while you’re in so much pain,”
Lu Guang felt his face blush bright red. He buried it deeper into the cushion.
Vein’s hand returned to Lu Guang's back, fingers travelling down from his neck to his tailbone. He paused for a moment before rubbing small circles into the exposed flesh he found there, his nails dragging across Lu Guang’s skin.
There wasn’t much Lu Guang could do to hold back his gasp as Vein started massaging him, his eyes rolling to the back of his head at the feeling. Vein’s fingers worked carefully into the muscle he found there, making Lu Guang feel distinctly like he was being prepared for a barbeque.
He bit down on his bottom lip, lest an actual moan slip out, tasting blood as Vein rubbed harder.
“Does that feel better?”
“Shut up,” Lu Guang muttered through clenched teeth.

Lu Guang is on his period and Vein refuses not to help.

“Lu Guang, I’m sorry… Please… Save them,”
It was weird, knowing what your last words were going to be.
But Cheng Xiaoshi knew the moment they left his lips that he didn't have the energy to say much more than that anymore.
It was selfish. Seeing how quickly he was dying, how much blood he’d lost already before Lu Guang turned him over, too shaken to inspect the bullet wound in Cheng Xiaoshi’s side. But Qiao Ling and Captain Xiao deserved a chance at life more than he did. Cheng Xiaoshi had nobody waiting for him, but they did.
At least he got to die with Lu Guang's name on his lips.

An early addition to the family. A little boy who had come to Alfred in a tattered old hoodie and with bruises on his body that predated his time in any vigilante suit.
One who said being Robin gave him magic. Who lit up a house that was just him, Bruce, Alfred, and the shadows of people who’d been forced to leave in one way or another.
They were all his family. But one of them was his Robin.

It was the hottest day of the year.
Cheng Xiaoshi was lying down, his shirt abandoned on the back of the couch as his limbs splayed out in an attempt to rid himself of his own body heat.
Everything was too warm. The couch cushions pressed against him felt like pillowy heat compresses.
He couldn’t move without sweat dripping from somewhere on his body. His chest, neck, hair. He looked like he’d just come out of a swimming pool.
Lu Guang was sucking on a popsicle.

Summary
Despite being his best friend, roommate, and business partner, there was surprisingly little that Cheng Xiaoshi really knew about Lu Guang.
His roommate rarely shared anything about his past life. In fact, to-date, all that Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to pry out of him was that he was:
1. An only child
2. Allergic to bananasCheng Xiaoshi was still unsure if that second one was an actual allergy, or just one of those things Lu Guang said because he didn’t enjoy the fruit's texture.
He was unsure about a lot of things about Lu Guang. It frustrated him.
The younger boy was decidedly a closed book. Conversations about their childhoods always circled back to Cheng Xiaoshi, so did ones about their parents, friends, and dating lives before they met each other. Cheng Xiaoshi had been able to shrug it off before, but the longer they knew each other the more it felt like Lu Guang was keeping secrets.
He seemed particularly nervous about the topic of romance.
