“This is a bad idea, cowboy.” Phillip whispers as he presses close to Alejandro, drawn in by the hand at his lower back.
“Why?”
“Because you’re drunk.” Phillip keeps his gaze locked with Alejandro’s as they sway together in time with the slow melody.
“So are you.” Alejandro chuckles, a soft rumble in his chest that Phillip can feel resonate inside his own. His cheeks flush, his lips part. It’s incredible, he thinks, how his body responds to the other man with no hesitation, no doubt. As if he was made for Alejandro. It makes him feel insane.

Phillip laughs. He leans back in his seat, arms crossed lazily over his chest, and kicks a foot up onto the table. "Guess I deserve that. Foolish of me to think you would have forgiven me by now. I was just following orders, cowboy. You know that. You’re the one who flipped his shit and made it harder than it had to be."
"Don’t. You always have a choice, Graves. And you made yours. You stay only as long as is necessary, and then I want you out of my fucking country. ¿Entiendes?"

Summary
They were told the planet was similar to earth in nearly every aspect. Breathable air, clean water, safe vegetation, and so on. It was meant to just be a routine expedition, Soap and a few others on run-of-the-mill security detail with members of a government appointed science team sent to study the flora and fauna. Soap himself had done this dozens of times, always without any major incidents. As a result, people said he was the best 141 Security Services had to offer, but really it was always because the expeditions were uneventful at best.
This one is no different. Soap watches from his comfortable spot beneath a wide, arching tree as a few of the scientists take samples from a nearby stream, and still a few others measure minerals in the soil along with countless other tasks Soap never bothers to try to understand. The peace and quiet, broken only by the occasional laugh carried on the breeze, coaxes him into an easy doze. A few minutes won’t hurt. If anything were to happen, Price would wake him anyway...
