Ilya thought that maybe over time his obsession with just looking at Shane would fade. He was wrong. He could stare at him from the moment he opened his eyes until they went to sleep again and it still wouldn't be enough. He tried to memorize every freckle on his face just for them to change with a day in the sun. He wanted to worship his body the way Shane deserved.

Ilya really sucks at leaving Shane alone when he is busy with work so Shane puts him in his place.

Summary
“What are you wearing?” Ilya asks, his voice sounding strangled.
Shane looks down, confused. “What’s wrong with what I’m wearing? I always–”
“Why are you wearing your glasses?” Ilya interrupts, and Shane notices the tension in his entire body when he speaks.
“I ran out of contacts,” Shane says.
“So you are wearing glasses to practice?”
“Yeah, it’s just one practice,” he says defensively, even though he’s done nothing wrong. “I’ll grab a pair of contacts from the eye doctor this afternoon."
“Right,” Ilya says, his eyes laser-focused on Shane’s face as his lips set in a tight line.
“Is that a problem?” Shane quips, and it comes off kind of bitchy, but he’s so confused as to why Ilya would have any issue with him wearing his glasses to one practice. He normally loves Shane in glasses.
Ilya seems to shake himself out of whatever weird-ass mood he’d fall into. He smiles, but it looks strained. “Of course not. Let’s go.”

Or, Shane has to wear his glasses to practice and Ilya absolutely cannot deal with it.

It all happens so quickly. One moment Shane is chasing one of the Voyageurs with Ilya speeding up ahead so they are basically trapping the other player, and the next he is watching Ilya hurtling into the ground in a nasty fall.

Shane Hollander has accumulated hundreds of penalty minutes across his career, same as every other hockey player, but none have ever been from fighting.
That is until a bad hit by his former teammates leaves his husband laid out on the ice and a comment that crosses the line has Shane dropping his gloves for the first (and hopefully last) time.
