The idea of Riza and Roy together… It's almost unbelievable. Riza is so studious and organized, beautiful and sweet, and Roy is… Well. As much as Maes loves him, Roy Mustang is a goddamn mess. Handsome and intelligent, sure, though Maes isn't sure that those two qualities outweigh how much of a bastard Roy can be. The concept of him being able to keep any woman, let alone one of Riza's caliber, is outlandish.
Maes really does try to picture her tagging along, but the mental image of the Riza Hawkeye on the beach in a sundress, smiling and relaxing for once in her life- let alone with Roy- is impossible to conjure up.
“You think they’re dating?" He asks. "Him and Riza?"

Summary
Riza Hawkeye has had enough of the love triangle she's found herself in. It's not even a love triangle. Solf and Roy hate each other. If it were a real love triangle, they'd be all over each other, too. So she decides, as payment for her emotional pain, to invite both Solf and Roy to a lunch. Except she just doesn't show up.

If the girl had spoken twice to him in the last couple weeks, it was already too much. He remembered clearly how was his reception the day he arrived at the Hawkeye manor. It wasn't clear, however, what had been more unnerving — the smell of mold or the amber eyes that studied him like a piece of prey (not in vain she was called Miss Hawkeye).
