I scoff at that, waiting for his response while biting my thumb and rolling onto my side. He doesn’t respond in the first 30 seconds so I scroll onto another app. Almost forgetting about our conversation completely. And then…JJ

“I had that dream about your sister again last night.”, Sobieski recalled, voice low as he spoke into the handheld receiver, annoying Decker. The other man scoffed and continued walking barefoot over the harsh desert ground. This did not discourage Sobieski, and he continued in detail to describe what he and Decker’s imaginary sister had been doing in his dreams.
“Mh, she’s biting my neck. I swear to God, we are going at it like fucking animals, bro.”, he described, grunting into the mic.
The truth was, his dream did not involve unknown sisters. It did not involve any women at all, but it was instead just him and his fellow soldier, naked except for their combat boots, kissing vigorously in the mess hall.-
