“Pretty?” Stede stammers. The man thinks he’s pretty?
The man grins at that. “Yes, pretty lad in some pretty clothes. How much do you charge? I want you to keep the clothes on, mind.”
Stede gulps at that. “You are serious about—about paying me. For my, um, services?” Him? This man wants to pay him? Something hot blooms in his lower belly. This man wants him. This man desires him. Is willing to pay for it, even. He likes Stede’s clothes and calls him pretty. And that’s—that’s not something Stede has been told before.
