Summary
Kaiba wanted to push this so-called ‘professional’ relationship to the brink and see just how far Jounouchi would go to serve his boss, his superior, his alpha.
The alpha stood up, using his height to tower over Jounouchi. He’d always been taller, but adulthood had been kind to Kaiba, giving him even more height over the omega than what was likely necessary. He used that to his full advantage, even taking a step forward to emphasize that difference and bring them closer. Kaiba’s ears pointed backwards and his tail lashed behind him, fur bristling—all signs that he wanted to attack.
Jounouchi faltered instantly, taking half a step back.
“Then if you can read me so well,” Kaiba growled, voice low and threatening as his razor-sharp fangs glinted in the dim lighting, “what am I thinking? What is going on with me, Jounouchi?”

Summary
Jounouchi was expecting the end of his relationship soon.
There seemed to only be two outcomes: he’d die and…well, he’d be dead; or he’d live and Kaiba could break up with him without looking like an asshole. Either way, their relationship wouldn’t survive his cancer, it seemed.

“How many near-death experiences have you had already?”
Kaiba wasn’t so sure if he actually wanted an answer to that question.
Jounouchi didn’t seem to care about his apprehension: “Hmm? Oh, wait, let me count…”
That…that’s definitely not the answer he had wanted to hear…Or: Kaiba and Jounouchi talking about all the times Jounouchi nearly died to avoid actually talking about their feelings.
