Summary
After the war ended, Ratchet was left behind.
Cybertron rebuilt itself without him. Team Prime drifted into the past. He tried to keep contact. He tried to schedule get togethers. But they were too busy. Too far away, excuses upon excuses piled up.So Ratchet stopped calling. Stopped messaging. Stopped hoping.
Stopped living.
After nearly 10 years by himself, he gets a call that drags him back into a world he barely recognizes. A reunion of old friends, promises of change, whispers of hope.
But scars run deeper than metal, and some cycles aren’t broken easily.
Healing is slow. Trust is fragile. And even now, Cybertron teeters between freedom and the same chains most bots spent their lives fighting to break.
He isn’t sure he belongs anymore.
Maybe he never did.

Summary
Ratchets systems haven’t adapted well to the lack of synthetic energon. It’s been screwing him over both mentally and physically. He’s been lashing out, keeping to himself, and just overall struggling alone.
Now his systems were completely failing, and he didn’t know what to do.
Optimus just wants him to feel okay. Even if that means allowing the risk that his addiction returns.
Kinda just thought of this randomly. I’ve never really done one shots before but I’m still thinking about where to take it if I do turn it into something more. If I do continue it it’s gonna be angsty and possibly include self harm and suicidal thoughts later on. Lemme know if you guys like it or not teehee. Also feel free to give some ideas if you have some.
