Letting his arm fall onto the bed with a soft thud, he closes his eyes against the pinprick of unease in his throat. It’s not his heart rate causing this. Of course it isn’t; it’s fine right now. Completely normal.
But that’s the problem, isn’t it? So many times, it’s just… normal.
Fine. No issue, nothing to write home about.

Summary
Their father is a mean drunk, and Seungmin can see a resemblance to Jeongin. They get mad and lash out and don’t care about the damage they cause. He sees the fear in his mother’s eyes as she cowers and runs out the door. She leaves them with him, and Seungmin doesn’t know if his father sees himself in Jeongin and mostly leaves him alone or because he’s younger and Seungmin is supposed to protect him, so he gets the bloodied nose and bruises in his place.

Sengmin had known about this part of himself for a while.
As much as he scoffed at the “puppy” joke the members would make at him, about how he was a loyal dog through and through, eager like a little puppy…they were absolutely true. In more ways than one.
He didn’t even notice it, really, the first time it happened. When all eight of them were huddled onto the couch, watching some boring movie, when he and Minho had started bickering. He distantly heard a “Down, dog.” and something clicked in his head.
aka: seungmin goes into puppyspace with all 7 of his fellow members, but jeongin seems to be the only one who notices.
