    "That's because you're an idiot!"
     
    In retrospect, Keith would have understood that interrupting a person who was venting, who was on the verge of crying, in that way was an asshole thing. At that moment, however, he was more focused on solving a potential problem for the team and wasn't thinking about Lance. He hadn't thought about him for some time.
     
    The punch he received after that sentence was more than deserved.

    Lance is angry and tired to be treated like the only problem of the paladins. Keith realizes too late that he could lose him.

    Voltron fell apart after Keith left, and their Blue paladin did more than he'd like to admit. The days pass, and eventually Keith comes back. Everyone's overjoyed, and Lance is too. But Keith starts to notice differences. How the paladins treat eachother. How the ship cries in neglect. But most of all, he notices that Lance has a strange addiction he never knew about. He also notices Lance's hygiene had gone to shit. Lance tries to hold himself together, but it's like gathering mirror shards and trying to glue them together with wads of gum, impossible. Keith's biggest question is:
    Why has nobody noticed their blue paladin's welfare crumbling before their eyes?

    “Were you dreaming?” Akira asked, easing towards the edge of the bed. His feet landed on the floor and he stretched his arms up over his head. Whatever he’d heard, he didn’t seem intent on going back to sleep. Shit. This was going to be it - Akira had heard something and now he was going to grab his stuff and go to Sakamoto’s room, and never to talk to Mishima again.
    He had to ignore it. Even as the idea made him want to sit up, ease towards the edge of the bed, and ask -- 'did you hear me? Did you enjoy it?'
    Akira would never speak to him again.
    “Uh… I think so,” Mishima tried to laugh. It came out a little breathless. “I don’t remember what about, though.”
    “You don’t?”
    “It was about you. I- I think.”
    “I could have guessed that much,” Akira said in a voice that was… not disgusted.
