Throughout the story, Akaza and Rengoku talk to each other and later on see the other pillars who eventually die in the battle against Muzan.

Zenitsu tends to be confused as someone who prefers being a loner, and he's okay with that if it wasn't so false. Zenitsu wants people around him, he wants people that will support his decisions and lifestyle. Yet, he drives people away just by his personality. Maybe he was meant to be alone, maybe this is the world's way of saying that he isn't meant to have anyone.
That makes sense.
