Emily checks her watch and realizes they have about thirty minutes before they need to leave, and moves to take off her coat. She pauses as she reaches for the buttons.
“God.”
Emily angles her head towards the bedroom door and waits, wondering if Andy banged her knee while getting ready. Nothing else comes through. She resumes taking off her coat, and grabs a hanger. Her hand freezes right as she places it on the empty hook.
A broken breath, somewhere between a whine and a moan, filters through the apartment.

Breaking news falls in the women's college volleyball world:
Nigel Kipling, assistant coach for over twenty years for the Nebraska Cornhuskers women's volleyball team, after working side by side with Coach Miranda Priestly, leaves his position when the opportunity to coach his own team arises. He joins Northwestern, which is home to rising outside hitter Andrea Sachs.
Miranda, hellbent on beating them whenever they cross paths, pushes Emily Charlton, her star libero, to the limit, in hopes of repeating their championship run and setting things straight.
