Tommy never really had anyone experienced in magic to teach him. Elementary and middle schools don't teach magic either, especially since the students would be young and incapable of controlling their powers.
The only way Tommy practised his control with Air was by himself. No one in the neighbourhood shares the same ability, and even if they did, Tommy knows they wouldn't dare enter the house. The reason why…
At that moment, Clara's calm expression falls into uncertainty. "They uh… they also talk about your Dark Magic," she explains as she carefully eyes Tommy.

So what if Tommy was born with Dark Magic? He got accepted to the Academy anyways, so he's not complaining.
While he makes both friends and enemies, Tommy learns how to use his powers and basically tries to enjoy his life at the Academy.

Three months. Three fucking months since this stupid apocalypse started.
Surviving on his own wasn't all that bad. He knew where to go when looking for supplies, he knew how to defend himself from both people and zombies. But months with the lack of company? Wilbur probably wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy.
Wilbur moved to get up, before feeling something cold pressed against the back of his head. He then froze when he realized that someone was standing behind him.
"Don't. Move. A muscle."

Wilbur has been traveling alone for a while, ever since he got seperated from his family. He expected to be able to survive on his own, at least until he could find them again.
What he was not expecting was ending up traveling with a girl and a kid, especially after their first interaction consisted of a gun to his head.OR OR
Basically Wilbur, Sally and Fundy end up becoming a small excuse of a family while having to survive through a zombie apocalypse.
