Yet here he sat, bound in chains forged of a desire he could barely comprehend, let alone name aloud. It felt like the ultimate betrayal. A betrayal of his parents’ quiet devotion and teachings, the very God he knelt before. The shame coiled tighter, a serpent of ice constricting his heart.
