Summary
When Swain's army marches through Ionia, one of his squadrons unexpectedly has to face a demon. Luckily, a certain person makes it a habit of fighting those. Unluckily, Swain is the kind of person who *will* look a gift horse in the mouth - and he demands explanations. One way or another.
Of course, elusive men have their ways of slipping bonds.
However, shortly after that Swain is forced to watch his whole world crumble. It takes years to rebuild what has been broken, longer still to go beyond.
Yet during all that time the memories and unanswered questions persist. Who knows, maybe a chance to repay old debts will make itself known...

Summary
It's a well known secret that Zed does not fight fair, especially not when it concerns the Eye of Twilight.
Yet there is little to be done but admit defeat when your own heart turns out to be as traitorous as your soul, and chooses to bloom for the one person you've been almost systematically eradicating every chance of ever peacefully being together with.
It's almost poetic, Zed can't help but admit – no matter how helplessly unfair and agonizing the process feels.

Summary
Zed's quite happy being part of the Shadow Force. No really, he is, he's one of the best, even - despite having a vaguely worrisome tendency to mouth off at his superiors whenever they give particularly idiotic orders.
As a consequence of the latter part he now has a joined mission with a PsyOps-Squad, and it can go either of two ways. Option one: He plays nice with the squad's captain, and all is well. Option two: Zed gains another notch in his list of "successfully pissed off an idiot" and loses his job in the process.
Yeah, self-control's a bitch.
Well, unless you're some PsyOps-Squad's captain, then you're apparently born with an abundance of it, so you specifically can use it to mess with Zed.

Summary
Zed doesn’t know what he’s expected to change, after his victory over Shen. After he’s drugged, beaten and taken the other man in some random woods.
Probably nothing.
To be fair, Zed can admit that he overall hadn’t really spent much thought on the ‘after’ at the time. It wasn’t spontaneous, no, but his thoughts had been mostly focused on sating the desire to finally dominate his rival, not on what consequences it might have long-term. Maybe he’d finally have earned some respect. Maybe he could enjoy lording the victory over the other. Use it for blackmail, or something.
That sort of thing.
Instead, nothing seems to change. Except that Shen appears to be a little off. Less around. Less seen, not just by Zed’s own network, but by the people in general. He’s gotten quieter.
Hm.
