Summary
Nat lives in a world where humans occasionally develop supernatural abilities. She thought she was in the clear when she passed the usual age range, but then she started manifesting the characteristic traits of a succubus and her life spun out of control. To get back on her feet, she has applied for a job in the support corps of the monster hunter's guild. The training will be hard, but the pay is good, the housing is free, and she's happy to follow orders. Very happy to follow orders.

Summary
Thea has found her home as Cassidy's familiar, and has even made her first real friends. As she joins Cassidy in the new semester of graduate level mage classes, she gets more and more comfortable with her role in helping her mage channel magic. Unfortunately, healing also means confronting uncomfortable questions like what she wants in life, and figuring out why the submission her old master demanded is so comfortable when she's giving it by choice.
I am currently rewriting some of the lore on this, and putting it on the backburner for a bit while I work on A Beginner's Guide to Falconry. Huge thanks to all who have left kudos and commented!

“We don’t mind,” Zoey stepped in, ever so sweet and helpful, “It would be rather hypocritical of us, really.”
“What? No.” Rumi said quickly, head thrown for a loop. She shook her head, trying to come to terms with the implications of their words, and scrambling to take control of the conversation again. “I mean, yes.” She let out a panicked little laugh. “Okay. I guess that’s sorted, but that’s not it.”
“Well then what has you so worked up? Unless you’re dying, or secretly a demon-” Mira started up again, but she stopped short at the sight of Rumi’s full body cringe.
“I wish you didn’t say that.” Rumi said in a small, vulnerable voice to fill the sudden, sharp silence.Or:

“Oh.” Zoey suddenly seemed a bit shyer. “I’m half witch… Mom’s side.” She chuckled lightly. “I thought you were a wolf. You’ve got yourself some gnarly fangs.”
Rumi blushed, tucking an invisible hair behind her ear. She ran her tongue over her teeth; sure enough, jagged pricks sat next to each of her front two teeth.
