Summary
Once Alastor was sufficiently drunk he’d have another go at using his new powers. Alastor hadn’t seen this one before but he had already succeeded in using it on lesser demons and was keen to try.
“Of course, Al. I wouldn’t miss it for anything.” Now was his chance. “So, I’ve been working on developing some of my new powers. Wanna see the latest one?” He eagerly awaited his friend’s response.
“Well, it had better be more entertaining than last time. Those little wires of yours are nothing compared to my tentacles!” He snickered at his own joke. “Might as well get this over with.” He gestured for Vincent to take the floor.
Vincent stood up and faced Alastor. Once he was sure he had his attention he started using his new powers: his hypnotic left eye. It expanded and red and black circles began to cycle in an expanding pattern. He had expected Alastor to be unfazed by it and for him to give him a clap on the back with a ‘good show, pal’ for his efforts, but that’s not what happened. Instead Alastor’s eyes reflected his and he stopped in his tracks. It had worked. It had actually worked. What now?

Summary
Something was wrong. Alastor had been weird ever since he’d given himself up to Vox earlier that day: unusually quiet, but always with that smug grin on his face that told Vox he was doing it just to piss him off. This though? This was different. The grin was still wide and smug as long as Vox was looking at him, but if he looked down at his desk for long enough, pretending to be studying his approval ratings, he could see in his periphery how that grin turned smaller, tighter, hanging on like one last thread of sanity.
Vox was going to have to do something about it if he didn't want to lose his precious prisoner. And if Alastor wouldn't hold still for medical treatment, he might have to give him something else to think about.
