Wilson shifts once, twice. Claude feels a warmth settle against the side of his head–his shoulder lowering, almost making himself easier to lean on. As if this, what’s happening right now, is something they’ve done a hundred times before.
Claude doesn’t speak. When he wakes up, he’ll blame it on the associated drunkenness–even though he’s surely the most sober one there, having not drunk anything–and the dry throat that prevents him from sitting up, laughing, and saying it was an accident.
Wilson doesn’t ask.
They stay that way for a long, drowsy stretch of minutes.
