Summary
Rook is back in the Lighthouse. His hands are still shaking and his heart is racing. Lucanis is staring at him, concern etched into his face. The others have gone. He remembers talking, getting briefed on what happened while he was stuck in the Fade prison.
Two weeks.
It seemed surreal, but he’d known that time worked differently in the Fade. He remembers telling the others how proud he was of them, and telling them to get ready for what may be the end of their lives.
He prays to any god willing to listen that he was convincing.

Chad’s mouth felt dry. He drained his drink, then set it down. The glass felt a little too soft under his fingers. He knew what she was talking about, but he wasn’t about to take pity on her like that. If she wanted to ask that question, which was none of her fucking business, she needed to actually say it. ”Let me what?”
Courtney huffed, but expanded on her question. “Reciprocate? Do anything beneath the belt?”

It doesn’t really surprise Robby that Dana’s the one who finds him. Long after the rest of day shift has left, he’s sitting in the quiet room upstairs in Peds, the sleeping infant nestled in his arms.
“Thought you were supposed to be on a motorcycle, out there trying to find yourself,” the nurse comments, leaning against the doorjamb with her arms crossed over her chest. The look she's giving him reminds Robby that she can read him better than almost anyone.
“Change of plans,” he says quietly, not wanting to wake the little girl.
