Ghost couldn’t think of a way to respond so remained silent. He watched as Soap took a deep breath, knowing he was about to say something else.
“Look, Ghost, I don’t wanna argue with ya. Especially over something so stupid. If I had to take a bullet to get you then I would have, gladfully. What’s done is done. Let’s leave it at that.”
“Don’t say that, Johnny.” Ghost spoke, his voice quiet.
“Say what?”
“That you’d take a bullet.”
“I would, though.” Soap replied, fiddling with piece of bandage wrapper in his hands.
“Just… don’t. You said you’d be better than me, one day, Johnny. You can’t do that if you’re dead.”

His smile was the kind in old movies, bright and pandering. He’d worn it when they met, and again in that noiseless house where he’d gambled behind shoji blinds. It was a palpable force, as was the whole of Gojo Satoru.
The current arrangement, proposed by a ‘Yaga’, was that the college would support the Fushiguros financially. That had been the end of it. Their living conditions weren’t… financially sound, but what the hell, living with Gojo?
Alternatively: The highs and lows of surrogate parenthood.

Even after hearing it well over a hundred times, it’s still not funny.” The apparition sighed, pushing himself off the door frame and back into the hall. “I already made breakfast. Be sure to eat it today before starting class—on time. Principal Yaga is getting fed up with your inability to follow the same schedule for over a decade.”
❤ Satoru wakes up to the world of his dreams. Of course, he would be suspicious. It's the oldest trick in the book. Did whoever was behind this truly think he wouldn't question waking up to Suguru making breakfast and teaching alongside him at the very school he'd try to destroy last Christmas Eve?

Getou tilts his head, the edge of the glass resting against his lower lip. The wine almost looks like it might stain his lips a red-purple. “Do you miss Haibara?” he returns, and Nanami has to suppress a flinch.

Something stirred in Kenjaku's carefully critical expression, but the words bled out of Satoru like they had sat beneath his skin for years. Perhaps they had. “You are Geto Suguru, and you are my friend, and you never stopped being my friend. You are Geto Suguru, and you are strong enough to overcome this."
