Summary
Two years after Dazai's death, Chuuya is the Boss of the Port Mafia, and things are going as well as anyone can expect. Until they're not.
"What--?" Chuuya manages, the word thick and throaty, too wet, too obvious. He blinks: what he's seeing doesn't change.
"Chuuya-kun, please come in," Mori says, conversationally. "If you could close the door behind him, Dazai-kun."
Chuuya's head whips around; Mori at the desk had been enough of a shock, but Dazai, curled up lazily in an armchair with a book, looking like a petulant housecat as he stands up, still covered in bandages with one eye visible, is enough to make Chuuya feel almost nauseated.
"Chuuya," Dazai says, the word a sing-song and nothing like the monotone way he'd said it when he was the Boss, "come on."

Summary
The guards grab Dazai, and he relaxes his body to prevent the injuries that tensing up would give him. Dazai feels his ability try to activate: it stutters and fades away almost immediately, the vampirism a symptom and not the root of the problem, and Bram Stoker several thousand miles away.
"If you're anticipating that this will stop me–" Dazai begins, and Dostoyevsky cuts him off with an easy smile.
"I don't need to stop you. Merely delay you further," Dostoyevsky says, voice easy and sweet. "They'll stop you in whatever way they see fit, although I don't know that violence is their preferred method. Since they can't subdue you simply by turning you…"
Dazai's smile comes out more of a grimace, he's certain. "You're an even nastier fellow than you let on, you know."

Summary
"Who disturbs my slumber?" a voice booms out, into the water, very clearly able to be heard, which isn't how the physics of sound and water work, but that's a problem for later, because Dazai recognizes the voice instantly.
"Why are you sleeping in the Yokohama harbor?!" Dazai says, back, wasting most of the rest of his oxygen as he swims backwards several feet. Of course, for Dazai, the words just come out as a vague series of muffled sounds and air bubbles.
Despite Dazai moving backwards, the tentacle he'd been touching – because that's undeniably what it is – snaps out quicker than Dazai can track in the dark water, wrapping around his waist and pulling him closer.
Lovecraft frowns. "I have seen your face before."

Summary
Dazai allows himself to be kidnapped. It's a very planned maneuver. Kunikida was against it, but he was overruled; even Ranpo agreed that it was safe, the group in question hardly skilled enough to give Dazai any difficulty. Dazai goes in fully prepared to pick the lock of his restraints with one of the several paperclips he has hidden on himself, with a clearly scheduled pick-up time and an even more clearly laid out counter-interrogation plan.
Except then they handcuff Dazai and raise his arms behind him, and he completely blanks out. They're not even trying to dislocate his arms; they just did things out of order and needed his arms behind the back of the chair, and they haven't found even half of Dazai's get-out-of-handcuffs-free tricks, and none of that matters, because Dazai blanks out. His ears buzz. The room, dingy and dimly lit, feels bright. He feels like he can't breathe.
Oh, he realizes, faintly. I'm going to have a panic attack.
Which is fascinating, on some level, because he's never had one before.

Summary
“Chuuya,” Dazai says, placatingly. “I didn’t—”
“You didn’t what, Dazai?” Chuuya snaps. There’s too much tension in his frame. He’s holding back with enormous effort. “You didn’t sneak into my apartment to meddle with something when you heard I was sick?”
Dazai had, in fact, broken in because he’d heard Chuuya was sick, and he wanted to change some (but not all) of his wine into vinegar, so Chuuya would never know which one he was getting until he uncorked it –
“I thought you were sick,” Dazai says, stressing the word. Everyone had acted like it was the flu. Dazai thought it was the flu. Chuuya’d already had his rut months ago, he wasn’t due for another until –
Unless –
“Corruption,” Dazai breathes out, too many pieces slotting together too quickly.
“Yeah,” Chuuya says. “Boss says there’s no way to tell if it’ll trigger every time or not.”

Summary
"Where will this take us?" Ruby asked.
"Not where," the Blacksmith said. "When you are needed most."
—————
And sure, right before the Fall of Beacon definitely qualified as 'when they were needed most'. But could anyone really blame them for not taking the warning literally?
