Summary
"Kaveh," Alhaitham normally doesn't care for softness. He isn't a man who minces his words or tries to make them more palpable for others. Not even for Kaveh, especially not for Kaveh. Right now, Alhaitham is trying to be soft. His boyfriend's voice is gentle like he's trying to lure back a kitten at the edge of windowsill. Kaveh would laugh at the tone if he could manage to get any air in his lungs. "Kaveh, can you hand me the knife?"
And Kaveh doesn't want to. He doesn't like that he's relapsed; he hates how the blood has dried on his skin and how blotchy his face feels from tears, but in comparison, the knife is an unchanging, almost calming presence. His grip tightens on the blade, and he hears Alhaitham take in a sharp breath.
"Kaveh, please."
