Just when he folds the paper to put it into an envelope, an ear-shattering explosion shakes the floor, making him almost fall out of his chair. Did Caleb actually Fireball his own tower? Immediately after that brief, shocked thought, he starts hearing loud screams, fires roaring, and soldiers’ boots running in the corridor outside.
It's happening. His pulse starts galloping.

Humming in interest, Caleb sucks, slowly. Oh, it’s nice. It’s very nice. The suction is replaced by the smooth edges of teeth, distinctly felt as they drag over the flesh. Essek's trips to the Empire leave him itching to blow off some steam, and he happens to find a very convenient way to do that in the form of a, shall we say, side hustle. No mess, no fuss, and everyone gets what they want.
Caleb needs to blow off a little steam too, or at least his friends think so. They arrange for a bit of companionship for him for the evening. Neither of them is at all what the other expected.
