Summary
Remus Lupin works part time as a history teacher at a local high school while he is getting his PhD. One day, after he has finished teaching, he stops by his favorite coffee shop, hoping to get some studying done while he enjoys daily caffeine fix, but his usual barista, Mary Macdonald is nowhere to be found. In her place, is a new hire, Sirius Black, who seems to be unaware of the professionalism that his job requires, but his impulsive decision to switch up Remus's order leads the studious man to keep coming back, in hopes of learning more about this new barista and maybe even to kindle the spark between them, although Remus certainly wouldn't put it like that.

Summary
Sirius had a bad habit of forgetting anything he knew about self-preservation when it came to their mother. What Regulus found once he’d made his way up the stairs, if anything, was proof of that. He would say that he was surprised, but that would be lying. Terror was a more fitting word, he figured, to describe what he felt as he saw his brother through the crack in the door, trembling and covered in blood on the floor.
He had never seen Sirius so weak. So wounded. Barely awake, hardly strong enough to carry a breath of air in his chest as he shuddered, Sirius looked utterly broken. And he was crying. Sirius didn’t cry. Never in front of her.

He was crying. “You can do that?” He repeated, feeling like he was in some sort of dream.
And then, Sirius seemed to realize. Because for a twelve-year-old, he was decently smart, and knew him better than anyone. “D’you…d’you want to do that, Reggie? I thought…I thought it was just a game?”
But he could only shake his head. Because it wasn't a game. He was a boy. And he could tell from Sirius's nervously resigned expression that Sirius knew it, too.
