“Marry me, Killua.” he finally hushes.
It might’ve been seconds, months, or years until Killua finally opens his mouth, eyebrows furrowed and a look of confusion painted on his face.
“W-what--”
“Marry me, Killua!” he says, bolder and fiercer than before. Killua looks dazed, completely awestruck and shocked as if Gon had just revealed the secrets of the universe.
“I got this for you!” he continues, “Where I’m from, you give a seashell to the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. And to me, that’s you.”
Gon hears Killua’s breath hitch.
“It’s always been you.”
(or, five times Killua refuses Gon's proposal and the one time he doesn't.)

Looking deep in thought, Gon cocked his head, his eyebrows furrowing like he was trying to solve the hardest equation in the world.
“I actually heard it’s…” a pause, hesitation, burning eyes demanding Killua’s unwavering attention, “...breathtaking. When it’s with the person you love, I mean.”
I wouldn’t know. The person I love doesn’t love me back.

“You shouldn’t have allowed it?” Leorio growls, then snorts derisively. The sound of it has Kurapika’s shoulders rising around his ears defensively. “Excuse me, O mighty Mafia Boss, how dare I place my lowly hands on you.”
“That’s not how I meant it and you know it,” Kurapika snaps back. “I only meant that I should have exhibited better self-control to prevent this from happening.”

A huffed breath in surprise rolls through his throat.
"Excuse me?"
Killua can barely contain the shock out of his response, his eyes growing wide with the unexpected question, words lingering softly in the air, dandling, like dust. Killua could see through them if there was any light in the room, he's sure.
Gon smiles even more.
And stars, whenever Killua thinks he can't smile wider, he's wonderfully proven wrong by this piece of sunshine in front of him.
"Yeah! Dance with me!" He exclaims, voice barely more than a breeze that envelops Killua with delirium, because it's three in the goddamn morning, and they're already in bed, just waiting for sleep to take over them. So much for any hopes left of getting sleep.In which Killugon slow dance in their kitchen at 3 am, and they're happy, just because they can :)
