What gave it away was the humming.
Incessant, familiar—no matter where they were, the noise seemed to follow. At first, it was barely noticeable, easy to brush off: they were always in dingy rooms with old radiators, or someone’s beat up car with a radio that was always half-on. Last night, it was a diner with a loud, neon sign plastered out front, only the first three letter’s of Denica’s left standing.
All places he’d been to before. All places it made sense to hear. But Randy’s not stupid.
Months after the incident—after knowing, having, and losing Benson in a span of hours—Randy still has dreams.
Well—he chooses to dream, flushing his medications each night for a chance of seeing him again.
And can you blame him, the way he’s been changed?

Randy almost doesn’t understand how it happened, even though he’s the one who started it. Three weeks ago he’d never had sex with anyone, never thought about doing it with a guy, didn’t think much about doing it at all. And maybe that means there’s something wrong with him, but he’s not stupid—he understands that Benson wants this from him. And if Randy can use that to keep them on track for a little while, maybe Benson will come back to himself. Will shake off the shock, and tell Randy what the plan is.
