For the first time in over five years, someone asked for permission to touch him.
And not just touch him, but hold him in a way that wouldn’t be sexual in any way. And god, as weird as it may sound, Shane was so, so touch-starved. Even though he basically had been touched nonstop for five years, he was suddenly desperate to be held close.
It was probably incredibly stupid of him, but he wanted to believe for just a moment that maybe, maybe, the two Alphas were actually on his side.
So he flung himself forward and wrapped his arms around Rozanov’s neck and let go of the sob before he fully started crying into Rozanov’s shoulder.Shane's layover in the US was only supposed to take two hours. But during those two hours, the US government was overthrown and omegas basically lost all their rights.
Five years later, Shane was still in the US and the property of Roger Crowell. He had lost all hope when two gentle Russian alphas unexpectedly entered his life, making it their mission to help Shane return back home to Canada and showing him that he still had some fight left in him.

It was one time.
Statistically, condoms had a 98% success rate when used properly. That meant that the condom packet had to have been perfectly sealed, the latex itself had to have no tears or degradation in the material, and it had to be worn as directed.
So why?
Why did it feel like the universe was saying fuck you in big bold letters and giving him double birds at the same time?
So why did the blue lines and the pregnant on the two tests sound so fucking fake?
Or: Where Shane finds out he's pregnant after their first time together in 2013 despite wearing protection, because the universe loves to fuck with him.

Summary
He didn't know the lore. He'd spent his life on suppressants, reading hockey stats instead of Omega biology, studying playbooks instead of presentation pamphlets. He didn't know that if an Omega spent their first true, unmedicated heat in the presence of an Alpha who protected them, the brain didn't care about "hooking up" or "sexual gratification." The brain cared about safety. The brain cared about the one who proved, through the fire of biological imperative, that they would not hurt you, would not use you, would not abandon you to the wolves.
Or: after years of avoiding heats, his suppressants fail and Shane falls into early heat in the middle of hockey camp. Ilya finds him and takes care of him, while being terrified.
