It's a Tuesday in March, and the kangkung is in its third planting, and the spinning robot is on the kitchen table, and Fies is exactly the correct weight, and Derek speaks six languages now instead of five, and Avery's mum calls every Sunday, and none of this is new information. This is just what the apartment is now. What they are now.Derek says a thing, near the end of the day, that he's been carrying around for a while and finally decides to put down.
Avery cries a normal amount about it.(the last one. a whole year, accounted for, in one ordinary Tuesday. everything they built, still standing. especially the part where it's still funny.)

Aki inhaled sharply, the cold suddenly forgotten as his body grew hot. He said no words, instead rising to his feet. Angel watched him with that indifferent gaze he'd grown used to, save one thing: his eyes glimmered with emotion.
That warmth pooled in Aki's stomach, burning him from the inside out. He stepped towards the bed, stopping as his knees brushed against the covers. They stared at each other in silence for a moment, Aki's heart hammering in his ears as he considered what he was about to do.
He didn't want to think anymore. He wanted to feel.
He pulled the covers back, and lied beside the devil.
