Summary
This is a Snape mentors Harry (Severitus) story centered on a disciplinary mentor dynamic in which corporal punishment is a core theme.
After Voldemort's return in the graveyard in Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore asks Snape to take a more hands-on role in protecting Harry, starting by giving him Occlumency lessons earlier than in canon. This is soon expanded into a broader mentorship, initiated by Snape with the goal of protecting Harry more effectively.
Snape grows to care for Harry, and Harry slowly comes to appreciate Snape — though their relationship develops gradually, with significant tension, conflict, and setbacks.
