After living for so many years at the mercy of harsh and arbitrary punishments, this is the very first thing he can think to ask for. If Luo Binghe weren’t so full of years worth of resentment, this is perhaps where he would stop, content only with protecting himself. But he is resentful. He’s full of hatred and bitterness that he doesn’t know how to get rid off, and he wants… he wants to make Shen Qingqiu pay.
Just a little. He won’t kill or mutilate him. In the end, the man is his shizun. He has not done enough to deserve that much. But he has earned to be toyed with a little, hasn’t he?

He’s proud. Really, he’s proud. But would it be terrible of him if he can’t help but be a little bit sad too? Sighing, he finishes breakfast and eats it himself, preparing for a long day alone, working and cleaning, and trying not to worry himself to pieces over where Shen Jiu is, when he almost certainly won’t bother answering his phone.
Speaking of phones, his makes a little text notification as he’s scrubbing the frying pan. Drying his hands, he opens it and reads.

Jakob grunted, shaking his head in protest, forcing his eyes to return to the spot between his legs. He didn’t want to watch his torture, but when he finally spotted the tools Dr. Hess was going to use, he suddenly couldn’t tear his eyes away.
The sleek metal rods were otherwise featureless, glimmering in the harsh lighting of the medical room. Each one was roughly six to seven inches long with a slight bend at one end. They started out slimmer than a pencil, but as Dr. Hess picked up each one to turn it over and examine it, Jakob could see that they quickly grew bigger, until they were thicker than a finger.
