The Argent Wolf Sanctuary. It’s been Stiles’ dream since he was five years old to work with the wolves, ever since his mother took him up there to see the magnificent creatures on one of their ‘full moon runs’ that the Sanctuary does once a month. The wolves are beautiful and much larger than Stiles would’ve thought, or at least, the newest wolf is. The owner had said he’s a special breed.

The effect was instantaneous. The eyes of half a dozen Alphas in the room turned gold. The one who had been teasing Liam snarled, baring his fangs, his instinct to claim the Omega in heat overriding any rationality.
Liam paled, fear replacing fury for the first time that night. He took a step back, stumbling over the bar. Mason tried to get in front of him, but a Beta was no match for a pheromone-crazed Alpha.
Theo watched it all with deadly calm. It wasn't his problem. Liam had a pack. Scott would come and rescue him. He just had to turn tail and walk away.
But then him own instincts, those he'd buried beneath layers of cynicism and pain, roared inside him. Protect. Claim.
Cursing silently, Theo moved. Not with the speed of a hero, but with the efficiency of a predator. He stood between Liam and the attacking Alpha, his own Alpha pheromone erupting not with territorial heat, but with icy, absolute threat.
"Touch the Omega," Theo said, his voice a whisper that cut through the hum of the club, "and I'll rip your throat out."
