Summary
Azul is very, very lucky that Jamil happens to be a light sleeper, or else he most certainly would have slept on til morning and missed all his messages.
Jamil’s groggily opens his eyes, rubbing incessantly at them to try and distract from the sting of his phone screen as he turns it on. It pings for the fourth time as he does so, and he can make out Azul’s contact name against his lock screen, currently a picture of a venomous snake he saw on a class trip to the zoo (a cover up for his home screen, which is one of the few photos Azul has ever let him take of him.)
