Only, he’d much prefer lower, where Zhongli’s hand passes over — Tsaritsa, what a fucking snatch — on his way to his thighs.
Zhongli tries something different, and Childe is a very, very good boy.

Zhongli shrugged far too casually considering the situation they were in. “The simple answer is that if I did not consent to be led into such a vulnerable position, you would have shared the same fate as the other veterinarian.” Ajax admitted to himself that he had a fair point. Zhongli never hesitated to resort to violence when he sensed danger. When his co-worker Scaramouche came too close once, Zhongli almost ripped his arm off before Ajax stopped him. “And… The complex answer is that I have grown to know you well enough to… want to.”
Ajax stared at Zhongli for a moment. This was just too surreal. “You want to because… why?”
Zhongli let out another small laugh. “The simple answer is that you are the best option. The complex answer is that I am fond of you for reasons other than your kindness.”
Or: Ajax is assigned to mate with half-dragon zoo animal Zhongli as part of the zoo’s “conservation project.” When attempting to go through with it, Ajax learns Zhongli is sentient and was pretending to be unintelligent so he can plan an escape. Zhongli says he wants to mate, and after they do, Ajax agrees to help Zhongli in his plan.
