Summary
A moment later a quiet rumble erupted from Mydei’s throat, and Phainon was so shocked he nearly stilled his hand. He continued to scratch, however, prompting the rumbling that resonated from within Mydei’s chest to swell in volume until it vibrated through Phainon’s arm and up his spine to short-circuit his brain.
Purring. Mydeimos, the Crown Prince of Castrum Kremnos, walking war machine and Chrysos Heir of Strife, was purring like a placated cat under his hand.
Oh, sweet Kephale, Phainon thought, and a strangled choke that sounded like a dying chimera crawled out of his throat.
Or; when Phainon offers to scratch a literal itch on Mydei's back during a meeting, he makes a discovery that permanently alters his brain chemistry.

Summary
They simply sat in silence as Mydei’s thumb brushed over Phainon’s hurrying pulse point. Upwards. He pressed the centre of his palm and his fingers twitched in response, half-closed before opening again. He dragged his thumb across the callouses at the base of his fingers and then the ones along each finger from years upon years of holding a sword.
Mydei’s fingertips pressed against his own and glided downwards, sliding over each calloused bump and drifting into the gaps between Phainon’s fingers without intertwining but so, so close.
“We should eat.”
Phainon’s hand lurched but Mydei splayed his fingers to hold him down as his eyes narrowed, sharpening, akin to a predator that caught the scent of bleeding prey.
He leaned closer to pin him with the weight of his hand and stare. “Unless there’s a reason you’ve been avoiding food like its poison.”
In the Eternal Page, Phainon’s body has been completely restored to enjoy peaceful days without the threat of death and destruction looming over Amphoreus. There’s just one problem and it doesn’t go unnoticed by the other Chrysos Heirs.

this fic needs to be put in the hall of fame because i cried too much reading this. phainons inner monologue and his feelings post-irontomb are just so gut wrenching and perfect. and the chrysos heirs trying to reach him with food but all in their own different ways is so genius. mydei is a total sweetheart and sooooo in character
and phainon not letting himself eat because its a symbol of humanity he thought he lost... o my god. 10/10 honestly
