Summary

Not hard — hell, Ilya barely moved an inch — but it was enough for Shane to realize that he had well and officially crossed the line, snapping him out of his angry haze. Ilya raised his eyebrows in disbelief. To Shane’s credit, he had surprised all the anger out of Ilya. “Thank you,” Shane muttered at the floor, stepping over the threshold and coming to a stop in front of Ilya, who was standing a few feet in front of the door with his arms crossed and face unmoving. Luca mumbled his thanks to the guard and followed suit, coming to stand next to Shane, his head bowed.

Shane hated clubs. Anyone who had spent any amount of time with him knew that he absolutely hated clubs. But it was Wyatt Hayes’s birthday, so Shane was sitting on a lumpy velvet couch surrounded by a majority of the Ottawa Centaurs players in a fucking strip club of all places. He glanced to his left to see Wyatt with his wife, Lisa, who was perched on his lap, both intensely watching the woman on stage peel her clothes off piece by piece to a low, thrumming beat. A blush crept up his cheeks as he followed their eyeline.
Or: The Centaurs venture out to a strip club for Wyatt's birthday, and Shane makes some very bad choices. When he wakes up in the morning, Shane is left hungover, ashamed, emotionally raw, and desperate to get the punishment he knows he's due out of the way.
