Summary
He looks at his own hands on the steering wheel, and they disgust him. They turn his worst thoughts into his worst actions, they harm the world around him, they ruin everything he loves. They’re stained with blood and gasoline and he knows he’ll never be able to scrub the smell off.
He looks at his own hands, and he wishes they were someone else’s, but they’re attached to his arms, his body, his soul. He’ll have to live with them for the rest of his life.
He looks at his own hands, and he’s terrified.
Through the blur caused by the tears in his eyes, he sees the upcoming red light. He steps on the accelerator.
As the autumn leaves turn burnt orange and die, Matthew and Taerae become obsessed with each other. They both know it's a horrible idea that's only going to ruin their lives.

Summary
On a lawn chair outside of his trailer, a lit cigarette in his mouth, Zhang Hao watches the sun rise over Rose Gold Mall for the last time this summer. Tomorrow, the traveling fair will leave this parking lot to move towards new, unknown parking lots. Today, his coworkers, his customers and him will meet new people, discover things about each other and themselves, laugh, cry, suffer, fall in love, just like people do every day.
They’ll also scare people on purpose, get scared on purpose, eat shitty food, play games, win prizes, lose money, complain about work, forget to have breakfast and watch the sunset from the top of the ferris wheel, of course. It’s going to be a beautiful day.
