Ivan is usually able to milk himself just fine, always keeping the pumps he uses in good shape because he’s never found others able to handle the amount he produces. Twice a week, that’s usually enough, but for some reason this week he can’t get a single drop out. It’s making his chest heavier than usual, swollen, and he can’t really ask anyone for help with something so exposing.
Good thing he doesn’t have to ask, a volunteer appearing on his doorstep.(Ivan getting milked because I want Russian cream and so does Matthew okay okay)

When Matthew visits him in the dead of winter, he’s faced with a house untouched by time, and a man with a frighteningly deep sense of devotion. It takes some time for Matthew to truly understand what Ivan means when he says he wants him to stay. After all, some things are better left preserved.
