Chas, characteristically unimpressed with the warlock's lax attitude towards the case, grumbled something no doubt vulgarly worded to himself out of John's earshot in return just at the same moment a speaker crackled voice gave answer to the rhetorical question.
Or; Constantine hates his life when Batman's problem children come into his town to have angst-ridden familial bonding in the forms of crime fighting, conspiracy chasing....and dark magic rituals?

13 years have passed since the famous writer, Alan Wake, went missing suddenly at Cauldren Lake. Now, just as mysteriously, he's returned and Casey has been thrust unwillingly into the role of baby-sitter whilst Saga solves the murder case unravelling before her eyes. Reality, however, is not all that it seems. But then again, neither is the difficult man that is Alex Casey.

Just fucking fuck. Dick didn’t even do anything, so what the hell is wrong with him, spazzing out at nothing, at his first chance at a little fun. He imagines what he must have looked like through Dick's eyes and can vividly picture what he saw: Jason acting so scared and helpless and weak and stupid and—just—fucking —Goddamnit.
Or, Jason isn't sleeping, Dick doesn't know what to do, and Tim just doesn't want to get shot at (again).

He wasn't sure what the plan was. Worse than that; didn't have a plan in the first place. Drifting. Tuesday, then Wednesday. And would you look at that, a Thursday. Meaningless words that kept coming around and around and he couldn't bring himself to be surprised to see them back again so soon. Over and over. Again and again. One no different than next, just how it wasn't different from the one before.
The funniest thing was that Sam didn't mind if they were all the same. He could do that without too much complaint. All he wished was that he was living someone else's days. Ones that weren't empty and grey, dull. Better days. Or a better person.

Or; It's the 90s and Sam's a down and out twenty-two year old with too many thoughts in his head. It's only when he goes to a rave almost by accident that he realises his life can be happy after all. So he goes again. And again. And all the joys that come along with raving start to seem more and more appealing, if only he could get this one copper to leave him alone long enough to enjoy himself
