Summary
Sirius spits the entire mouthful of curry out so dramatically that it scatters across the table and lands right in front of James’s bowl.
Remus almost chokes on his wine and his glass hits the table with force; Regulus would scold him if he weren’t preparing for mortification and death. “Padfoot!” Remus scolds. “What in the—”
Sirius hacks out a cough. “The f’ck—!” He’s scraping rapidly at his tongue with a napkin. Then spits in his bowl. Regulus is offended. “What the fuck is this?”
Regulus slams his fork on the table. “Okay—”
[Or, Regulus tries to cook dinner for himself, James, Sirius, and Remus. He makes a mistake—but he's trying, okay!]

Summary
Regulus pulls his cape closer around his shoulders, pinching it tighter under his chin and peering out from beneath the low hood. Dark fabric and concealing shadows; this is where Regulus finds his solace. And he follows muddy boots and a tall silhouette on instinct, past labourers and farmers and vagabonds, and smoke that leaves the mouths of those who glance with dead and barely curious eyes.
There’s vague murmurings that disappear into the wind—Regulus is used to this—yet one sharp, bitter comment stands out amongst the rest: “Is that a Black? Disgustin’. Foul creature—”
Regulus falters in his step. His heart skips a beat of panic. A heavy arm slips around his shoulders.
“C’mon,” James murmurs. Regulus’s knight. “Not far now.” He doesn't stray from Regulus's side.
One step. Two steps. Breathe. Don’t look up. Another step. A fourth. Stay together. Safety. With him.
[Or, The kingdom of Grimmauld is dreary and crumbling, rotting from the inside out, and kept barely functioning by the ruling House of Black. It is a responsibility and heartache that Regulus Black never wants to inherit.]

Summary
“What’s going on in that head of yours, Buckley?” Eddie’s voice, coupled with a teasing glower and eyes lit with amusement, pulls Buck out of his daze.
“Uh—huh? Oh, nothing—yeah. It’s nothing.”
Eddie scoffs. He buckles his belt, brushes down his trousers, and wanders back over to Buck’s side of the bed. He sits down, tucking one socked foot beneath him, and chuckles. He’s bathed in the afternoon sun and—he’s fucking dazzling.
“You,” Eddie says, taking Buck’s chin in hand and nudging it up just slightly, “are a terrible liar.” He ducks down and meets Buck’s lips in a kiss; one that’s soft in comparison to those they shared the night before.
[Or, Buck and Eddie bask in a moment of sweet domesticity, and Eddie is overcome by an emotional realisation of 'finally' that comes alongside one's gay awakening.

Summary
“You deserve to live, you know,” Richie said.
His palm was a warm promise against Eddie’s skin. Eddie shifted closer so that their noses touched, and his gaze flicked to Richie’s lips—soft and tinted. Richie’s other hand moved to rest on Eddie’s waist.
“You can have anything you want,” Richie whispered. “Just let go.”
Eddie's gaze flicked up to Richie’s eyes. “I want this."
[Or, The Age of Adaline AU. Edward Kaspbrak stopped ageing at 30 years old, in 1955, and was clueless as to why. Thus, he stopped living and spent his decades running. At a New Year's party in 2020 he met Richard Tozier, and what ensued after was a string of events that one might call a love song.]

Summary
“Nothing,” Will says, right into Mike’s ear. “Still feeling good?”
So good. Mike makes sure to not say it aloud this time. “I think,” Mike says slowly, heart pounding, “I need” — Will pulls back just a little, just enough for their noses to bump against each other, clumsy, and Mike bites the bullet — “one more.”
Will is still in Mike’s lap, which is maybe not very platonic of him, and the joint has smoldered its way down to the end, nearly over, all eaten up by the fire. Will swallows thickly, then leans closer, a perfect imitation of their positions from earlier. Mike isn’t sure how long it’s been, but fire has been eating away at him too, this whole time, leaving him on the brink of going up in smoke, slow and burning and so good.“Yeah?” Will murmurs, realization dawning on him, eyes wide. “One more?”
or: Mike’s still new to this whole smoking thing. Will has a few ideas.

Summary
It's stupid, obviously, but it's kind of intriguing to imagine what it would be like if they'd ever come eye to eye.
He'd probably faint and die if it ever happened in real life. He'd absolutely embarrass himself, maybe stutter a few incoherent words before blacking out, but-
But a man can dream, right?

Summary
George walks out of the recording session. (Partly because of John and Paul's constant bickering, and partly because there's someone outside he'd like to see.)
