He had been playing with his boat, his latest invention, and I had been fascinated by everything him.

Summary
Viktor was used to pungent smells. Naturally, Zaun had an atmosphere that left his senses congested, but the smell in the brothel was a different kind of pungent. Thick smoke and headache-inducing perfumes that tried rather unsuccessfully to conceal the smell of sweat, alcohol and the unmistakable scent of sin.
