The wolf’s eyes are silver like Chan’s, his fur pale, the moon casting a silverish glow to his greyish coat, just like Chan’s hair. For the second time today, Minho finds himself questioning if he should be afraid. Every fibre of his being tells him he should be, but his heart has its own voice, and it says there’s nothing to be afraid of.

“Alive?” She asks.
“Yes, my lady.”
She hums.
“How unfortunate.” She says, finally, under her breath, and Minho risks a glance at her expression. “Is his situation dire?” She raises her chin slightly, still examining the body of the man on the cot.
“My lady, he is strong. He will be awake in a couple of hours. Just… in pain.”
She takes another long onceover at him, before fixing Minho with a tired expression; “Ensure that he stays asleep until midnight. If he continues to cling to life until then… We will transport him and you to… a residence. Further uphill. Then I will decide what to do with him.”
Minho nods; but in truth, dislikes that he is now tasked with the stranger like a servant would. He did disclose that he is educated with herbs and medicine, but he didn’t explain to what extent, and couldn’t help but wonder if she knew more about him than she led on.
The mistress stands up to leave, but then pauses lightly, a small smile gracing her lips. “Rejoice, child. Your dead husband has returned alive from the war.”Or, the one where Lee Minho, an omega on the run, accepts a ghost marriage to a dead great nobleman for coin.

“You’re lucky I’m not a creature of the night, young lord. You could have been hurt dragging in a stranger in the middle of the night. Who knows if I wanted to steal something… irreplaceable,” the stranger said, eyes flickering over Minho again, lingering on Minho’s throat that was hidden under his tie.
“It would have hurt me more to leave you outside in the cold,” Minho countered, crossing his legs and leaning back on the couch. “It would have been a misfortune for both of us if something happened due to me thinking too highly of myself to help someone in need. And nothing has been stolen as far as I can see.”
Or, the rules are clear - do as you’re told, cover your neck and wrists, sit in the sun, and never let strangers inside. That’s how Minho was raised, his mother’s warning haunting him all the way into adulthood. That is, until one night a handsome stranger knocks on the door, fainting before Minho.
